Seek promotes systems-oriented approaches to healing and believes that wellness is a community responsibility. Since 2016, Seek has created and collaborated on programming to increase access and awareness to mental health and wellness issues:
We have served approximately 6000 clients through our partnership with Vida Clinic, bringing individual, family, and group therapy to children and adults in school-based and community settings.
Through our Community Wellness Initiative (CWI), we have partnered with Mano Amiga and The Bail Project to provide individual and family therapy, support groups, and community events in Hays and Caldwell County. The CWI has also provided Central Texas educators free, ongoing support groups over the past year. Through this initiative, we served approximately 200 individuals and provided 600 hours of therapy and support.
We also held 3 community events in Hays and Caldwell counties this fall to promote mental health and wellness.
Seek also has held 2 art events, one to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month and the other to commemorate World Mental Health Day, in which we commissioned murals and artworks to be displayed at various Austin businesses such as Twelve Rivers Realty, Kellie’s Baking Co., Birds Barbershop, and The Yard.
This year, we were grateful to have received the John & Kitty Holman Award at the 2021 NAMI Central Texas Annual Meeting, which recognizes organizations that provide safe and supportive environments for those impacted by mental illness.
